Hunger of the Sea

 Historical Note:

Master Orion was a sea captain who traveled all four Tâurymian seas. He spent most of his time in the Unending Sea trying to find passage to Kultâ. It is said that one day, he simply vanished into the East and was never seen again.

Some sea captains believe he did find a path to Kultâ and lives there to this day.

Gnashing, thrashing, biting
Sea beast of old, always fighting
Plowing, splashing, eyes seek
The ships of Rûge Rûne creak.

Scouting, shouting, lashing
Pressing ‘gainst the waves crashing
Pursuing, unyielding, raised sail
Master Orion midst the gale.

Hungering, thundering, dreaming
Through the atoll waters gleaming
Anchoring, seeking, hopes roam
In Southern seas of aqua foam.

The Traveler

His face glows, his eyes dance
In the firelight of blackening night
The Traveler weaves a trance
Of mirth and myth, of death and light

He tells of ancient days
When the Green Age blanketed the earth
And love, a morning blaze
Did warm, sweet marriage of home and hearth

He whispers of darker times
When came the Shunned, and each dale fell still
And life’s songs lost their rhymes
When warriors of worth did evil kill

But bells with heralds shall ring
Of arcane truth and death of black lies
And troubadours will sing
Of tales and times when new light shall rise

His face glows, his eyes dance
Hope lives in tales of magic and chance
